How it works
Formed on 1 September 2011 by the merger of Hite Brewery with Jinro, the soju maker founded in 1924. Beer is brewed at the Gangwon plant at Hongcheon (opened August 1997) and at Jeonju. Brands: Hite, Max (2006, the first all-barley-malt beer), Terra (2019) and Kelly (30 March 2023); Hite lost the national lead to Cass in 2012. In July 2026 it agreed a technical partnership with Kirin, and its Jeonju plant now brews Kirin Ichiban Shibori in cans (announced 12 October 2026). unverified info
