How it works
Founded in 1834 as Ole Pehrson's brewery and mineral-water factory at Bragernes in Drammen, on the same site on Ole Steens gate ever since. Poul Lauritz Aass took it over in 1866 (the brewery itself says 1864) and it has stayed in the Aass family; the fifth generation, Christian August K. Aass, has led it since 2013. Aass calls itself Norway's oldest continuously running brewery (Schous in Oslo, closed in 1981, counted from 1821). It bottled Coca-Cola until 2001 and has about 100 employees. unverified info
