How it works
The brewery of Cusqueña in Cusco. It was opened in 1908 by Ernesto Günther and partners as a branch of the Cervecería Alemana Günther & Tidow of Arequipa, which had brewed since 1898, and first made a Pilsener Bier Cuzco and an Extracto de Malta Cuzco. The Compañía Cervecera del Sur del Perú (Cervesur) ran it from 1955 and sold its beer as Cusqueña; in March 2000 Backus bought Cervesur for 164 million US dollars. The Cusco brewery still works for Backus, which belongs to AB InBev. unverified info
