How it works
The British arm of Carlsberg, whose Northampton brewery on Bridge Street opened in 1973 or 1974, designed by the Danish architect Knud Munk in the form of a longship; it was the first brewery Carlsberg built outside Denmark in Europe. It merged with the Allied Breweries' Tetley as Carlsberg-Tetley in 1992. In 2020 it merged its brewing with Marston's as Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company, in July 2024 Carlsberg bought out Marston's 40% share, and in January 2025 the business became Carlsberg Britvic. Brands: Carlsberg, Tetley's, San Miguel (licence ended 2025). unverified info
