How it works
Heineken has been in Romania since 2003, when it took over the group of the Austrian BBAG (Brau Union Romania: Ciuc, Grivița and Haber, bought in 2000). It bought Bere Mureș (Târgu Mureș, set up in 1992) in 2008 and closed the Hațeg brewery in 2010. Constanța stopped production around September 2023 (announced on 20 September 2022). Today it brews at Miercurea Ciuc (opened in 1974, 2.9 million hl in 2024), Craiova and Ungheni; brands Ciuc Premium, Neumarkt, Golden Brau, Bucegi, Harghita, Heineken. unverified info
