## About

Brouwerij Het Sas, also called Leroy, stands at Boezinge near Ypres. It was founded on the canal in 1572, first owned by the Clarisse family and then by Carolus Leroy; it was burnt out in the First World War and rebuilt in the village centre, where the Leroy family has brewed without a break since 1924. In 1962 Brouwerij Van Eecke of Watou came to the family through marriage ties (rows #1374 and #1113), and in November 2016 the two breweries began to appear under one name, Leroy Breweries; the beers are bottled at Boezinge. The company says it has more than four centuries of brewing behind it; its lines include the Hommelbier, made with Poperinge hops since 1981, and the Kapittel abbey beers.
