Brouwerij Het Sas, also called Leroy, stands at Boezinge near Ypres. It was founded on the canal in 1572, first owned by the Clarisse family and then by Carolus Leroy; it was burnt out in the First World War and rebuilt in the village centre, where the Leroy family has brewed without a break since 1924. In 1962 Brouwerij Van Eecke of Watou came to the family through marriage ties (rows #1374 and #1113), and in November 2016 the two breweries began to appear under one name, Leroy Breweries; the beers are bottled at Boezinge. The company says it has more than four centuries of brewing behind it; its lines include the Hommelbier, made with Poperinge hops since 1981, and the Kapittel abbey beers. unverified info
