How it works
Urthel is the beer brand of Hildegard Overmeire (also given as van Ostaden), an engineer who had worked on breweries, and her husband Bas van Ostaden, who made up the Erthels, the little forest people on its labels; the first beers date from April 2000. They were brewed for the firm at Ruiselede, whose own row is De Leyerth Brouwerijen #903, so this row stands on its point. Royal Swinkels (Bavaria) took over the brand in 2012, and since 2017 the Urthel beers have been brewed at Palm in Steenhuffel. The range now is Saisonnière, Hop-It and Samaranth. unverified info
