Founded in 1807 by Daniel Thwaites in Blackburn, Lancashire, as the Eanam Brewery, known as the Star Brewery from about 1948. Marston's bought its brewing business, with the Wainwright and Lancaster Bomber brands, for £25.1 million in March 2015; Thwaites went on as a pub company with 270 or more pubs. It began brewing at Mellor Brook, near Blackburn, in September 2018, and the old Blackburn brewery was demolished in 2019. unverified info
