## About

German-style brewery in Morioka, Iwate: it began brewing in February 2001 (another source says April 2003) with equipment from Germany, including a kettle about 100 years old. The name comes from the German word for bears, the animal of the prefecture. Baeren Classic is a Dortmunder-style lager; the 2011 earthquake did only small damage.
