How it works
The brewing division of Bass PLC, set up in 1989 when the Beer Orders forced Bass to split brewing from its pubs; Bass & Co itself dates from 1777, when William Bass founded his brewery in Burton upon Trent. Interbrew (now AB InBev) bought the brewing business in 2000 and, on the competition authorities' order, had to sell the Burton brewery and the Carling brand to Coors, while keeping the Bass brand. Bass Brewers Ltd was then renamed Coors Brewers Ltd. Brands: Bass Pale Ale, Bass King's Ale, Worthington. unverified info
