How it works
A city brewery in the centre of Nijmegen, founded in 1996 by Herm Hegger, who had started Brouwerij Raaf in Molenhoek in 1983 (sold to Oranjeboom in 1991, closed in 1994). De Hemel first stood in the Brouwershuis in the centre and since 1999 has been in the cellars of the Commanderie van Sint Jan, with a brewers' café. It brews small batches, makes beer vinegar, beer mustard and beer liqueurs, and brews on contract for several brewery renters. Its beers include Luna (pilsener), Serafijn (witbier), Godelief, Helse Engel (tripel) and Marikenbier. unverified info
