How it works
A Norfolk brewery started in April 1981 at Drayton, near Norwich, by Ray Ashworth and Dr David Crease, who had been brewing at home since the 1960s, and named after the 18th-century diarist Parson James Woodforde. It moved to Erpingham in 1983 and in 1989 to converted farm buildings at Woodbastwick, where the Fur & Feather pub opened in 1992. Its Wherry became CAMRA's Supreme Champion Beer of Britain in 1996. The business was sold to a group of investors in April 2016, and by the end of 2017 it was the largest brewery in Norfolk, producing over 20,000 barrels a year. unverified info
