Romania Ursus Breweries, based in Bucharest, was owned by SABMiller from 1996 until March 2017 and by Asahi since then. It brews in Timișoara, Brașov and Buzău, and runs the Barlog craft brewery in Cluj-Napoca; brands Ursus, Timișoreana, Ciucaș, Stejar, Azuga, Grolsch, Peroni, Redd's, Pilsner Urquell. The Buzău brewery, the largest in Romania by volume, began brewing in 1978 with 500,000 hl, became Vulturul S.A. in 1991 and was bought by South African Breweries in 1996. unverified info
