## About

Roadside brewery at El Sauzal, just north of Ensenada, said to be the first legal brewery in the town. The marine biologist Nathaniel Schmidt began home-brewing in 2009 and named the brewery and its beers after sea life (the aguamala is the local jellyfish); the tasting room, built from shipping containers, opened in 2015. Its Astillero IPA won a silver medal at the 2014 World Beer Cup. Core beers include an English bitter, a Belgian wit, an American pale ale, an amber and an oatmeal stout.
