## About

Brouwerij De Kazematten opened in April 2014 in a barrel-vaulted casemate of the 17th-century Vauban ramparts of Ypres. Its first beer, Wipers Times 14, recalls the trench newspaper that British soldiers printed in the same casemate in the First World War, and the brewer Koen Hugelier uses thistle seeds in it. He was recruited by Julie Depypere, daughter of the owner of Sint Bernardus, and Maarten Ghequire, whose father is a manager at Rodenbach. The brewery celebrated ten years in November 2024.
