How it works
Founded in 2012 at Winterthur by Jürg Schönberg and Philip Bucher as Doppelleu Brauwerkstatt; the first beer came in February 2013 and the capacity grew from 5,000 hl to 100,000 hl by 2016. It bought Boxer in 2017 (effective 2018) and was renamed Chopfab Boxer AG in 2023. Locher took the majority in March 2024 after a debt cut; from spring 2026 the Chopfab core beers are brewed in Appenzell and Winterthur turns to craft and seasonal beers. unverified info
