Ukraine One of the oldest breweries in Ukraine. Archive documents show brewing in Kalush from 1565 at the latest; the date used to be 1649. Under Austria-Hungary its beer was sold in distant cities of the empire, and from 1870 it belonged to Muhlstein, Spindel and Weissmann; the malthouse of 1890 still supplies it. It was privatised in the early 1990s, was close to bankruptcy in early 2005 and in March 2005 was bought by a Kyiv investor, who leased it to Karpaty plus 2004 LLC. unverified info
