Brewery
back Donnington Brewery

Country: gb United Kingdom

A small independent brewery in the Cotswold village of Donnington, near Stow-on-the-Wold, where brewing began in 1865 in the mill that Thomas Arkell had acquired in 1827. The two water wheels supplied all the power until 1959 and are still used occasionally. Claude Arkell died in 2007 and the brewery passed to cousins from the Arkell's Brewery family of Swindon; it still brews on the site and supplies about eighteen tied pubs in the Cotswolds. unverified info
