How it works
The brewing company of the Brakspear family of Henley-on-Thames, which traces its brewing to 1711, when W. H. Brakspear bought a brewery in Bell Street; in 1812 brewing moved to New Street by the Thames. The Henley brewery closed in 2002 and the beers were licensed to Refresh UK, which brewed them at Wychwood in Witney from 2004; in 2013 the pub company opened the small Bell Street Brewery in the Bull. After Wychwood closed in 2023 the beers were brewed for a time at Banks's in Wolverhampton and, after that closed at the end of August 2025, at Carlsberg's brewery in Burton upon Trent; from September 2026 they are brewed at Hogs Back in Surrey. unverified info
