How it works
Founded in Lille in 1921 as Brasserie du Pélican by Louis Boucquey, Armand Deflandre and Raoul Bonduel. Pelforth 43 (Pélican forte, today Pelforth Brune) followed in 1937. From 1966 production moved to the cooperative brewery of Mons-en-Barœul, taken over since 1954; the brewery was named Pelforth in 1972. Owned by BGI from 1980, then Société générale de brasserie (Française de Brasserie), Heineken from 1988. The largest Heineken brewery in France. unverified info
