How it works
Perła – Browary Lubelskie in Lublin began in 1948 as Lubelskie Zakłady Piwowarsko-Słodownicze, formed from the nationalised K. R. Vetter works and the Jeleń steam brewery, and was renamed Zakłady Piwowarskie w Lublinie in 1974. After 1992 it ran as an employee-owned company; from 1999 Browary Strzelec held 48%, which passed to Bryggerigruppen (Royal Unibrew) in 2005, and Cypriot holdings own the rest. The plant on ul. Kunickiego reached 1.7 million hectolitres a year in 2013, and the Zwierzyniec brewery has been leased again since 2012. Perła is the main brand and the company has about 3% of the Polish market. unverified info
