How it works
On 17 May 1892 Remi Vander Ghinste bought a house with outbuildings at Bellegem for his 23-year-old son Omer, and that year the first casks of Ouden Tripel, now Vanderghinste Roodbruin, were made. A low-fermentation tower was built in 1929, and the success of Bockor Pils led the brewery to take the name Bockor in 1977; it became Brouwerij Omer Vander Ghinste again in 2014. Cuvée des Jacobins, a foeder beer, goes back to the First World War, when Omer stayed in Paris near the Rue des Jacobins, and the traditional blond Omer came in 2008. unverified info
