## About

The town brewery of Znojmo by the castle, founded in 1720; brewing rights go back to 1278 and a brewer named Hostan is recorded in 1363. Owned by the Maural family from 1860 to 1921, nationalised in 1948. Heineken has owned the Hostan brand since 2003 and brews it elsewhere; since 2015 the old site brews again as Znojemský městský pivovar.
