How it works
The drinks company Kassatly Chtaura, founded in 1974 by Akram Kassatly and known for the Freez and Buzz soft drinks, started a brewery project in July 2013 next to its plant at Chtaura in the Bekaa Valley. The brewery was built in about nine months, with twelve fermentation tanks from Germany, and Beirut Beer, a pilsner, went on sale in July 2014. The brewery and bottling hall cost about 25 million US dollars (Hospitality News; SMI gives 13 million) and can make 20 million litres a year. Beirut Beer comes in 150, 250, 330 and 500 ml bottles. unverified info
