## About

Brouwerij Cornelissen, until 2015 Brouwerij Sint-Jozef, is a family brewery at Opitter in Bree. The family says it has brewed since 1811, first at Gerdingen and on the same premises at Opitter since 1859; Jaak Cornelissen built a new brewery there in 1934-35, and Pax Pils is its oldest brand. Jef Cornelissen Jr took over from his father around 2013-14 and the firm took the name Brouwerij Cornelissen in 2015. Since 2009 it has brewed the Herkenrode abbey beers, named after the former abbey near Hasselt, alongside Limburgse Witte.
