The brewery in Braniewo (Warmia-Masuria) says brewing in the town goes back to the 16th century and was reborn in 1854; an employer profile names Jacob von Roy as the founder of the plant. It was destroyed in the Second World War and rebuilt in the 1960s, and in 1991 it became part of Elbrewery. It brewed licensed Grolsch and Special and uses Oligocene water from its own deep wells.
