How it works
The only brewery in Guinea-Bissau, in Bissau: built as CICER (Companhia Industrial de Cervejas e Refrigerantes da Guiné) with Portuguese money in 1973-74, brewing the Pampa lager; Central de Cervejas held a share from 1977 to 1998. Shut in the late 1990s, it was bought by the Moroccan Africa Bottling Company (ABC Nova Cicer) and reopened in 2007 or 2011 (sources differ). The Spanish Grupo Santy says it bought CICER in 2016 and began a 25 million euro rebuild in November 2018 to brew Djumbai, a 5.4% pale lager. unverified info
