How it works
The Tashkent brewery of the Baltic Beverages Holding (BBH) venture with the Uzbek partner Sarbast Plus (BBH 75.1%, about EUR 50 million), which shipped its first beer, Sarbast, in July 2007 and was opened officially in September 2007; capacity 1 million hl a year. Renamed UzCarlsberg in October 2008 when Carlsberg took over BBH's assets, and wholly Carlsberg's from June 2009. Stopped in March 2012 for lack of raw materials, staff on leave until September; in February 2017 Brauwelt reported the sale of Carlsberg's Uzbek business to Israel's Central Bottling Company (CBC).
