## About

Started in April 1978 by Peter Austin in an old bakery in Ringwood, Hampshire, and moved to Christchurch Road in 1986. Marston's bought it in 2007 for £19.2 million. Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company announced its closure in December 2023, after failing to find a buyer, and brewing ended in January 2024: Old Thumper went to Marston's in Burton, and Razorback, Fortyniner and Boondoggle to Banks's in Wolverhampton.
