Closed in 2004 — no longer brewing at its old place

Browary Warszawskie stood at ul. Grzybowska 58/70 in Warsaw and was formed from the nationalised Haberbusch i Schiele brewery, whose line goes back to the purchase of the Schöffer brewery licence in 1846. It was rebuilt from 1949 and brewed again from July 1954, made 330,000 hl in 1965, and in 1970 brewed Specjal, Królewskie (Kongresowe) and Porter; the first licensed Coca-Cola bottles in Poland came off its line on 19 July 1972. In 1992 it became the employee-owned Browary Warszawskie S.A. (Browary Warszawskie Królewskie S.A. from 1997), and in March 2001 the Austrian Brau Union took it over. On 15 June 2004 the owners decided to end brewing in Warsaw and move it to Warka, and the plant had left the site by 15 July 2004; from 2014 the area became the Browary Warszawskie office and housing complex. unverified info
