Belgium Vincent Dilewyns began brewing at home in Grembergen in 1999 as a hobby, and in 2005 he had 1,250 litres of his own beer, Vicaris, brewed at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi. He gave up his dental practice in 2008 to run the beer firm full time, and in 2010 Proef brewed 700 hl of Vicaris. A brewery in the Vlassenhout industrial zone of Dendermonde was bought at the end of 2010 and opened officially on 20 May 2011, with a capacity of 15,000 hl a year. The beers are Vicaris Tripel, Generaal, Tripel-Gueuze and Winter. unverified info
