## About

South African Breweries bought Vulturul Buzău in 1996 and Pitber Pitești and Ursus Cluj in 1997. Ursus bought the majority of Timișoreana in 2001, the two were merged into Romania Beer Company in 2002, Aurora Brașov was taken over in 2004, and in 2005 the business was renamed Ursus Breweries. SABMiller owned it until March 2017, when Asahi completed the purchase (31 March 2017).
