## About

The brewery of the Trappist abbey Maria Toevlucht in Klein Zundert, named after the abbey's former De Kievit farm. The monks decided in 2009 to brew, building began in 2012 and the mayor of Zundert opened the brewery in December 2013; Zundert Trappist went on sale on 6 December 2013 and received the Authentic Trappist Product logo four days later. It made Zundert 8 (a tripel), Zundert 10 (a quadrupel) and a table beer, Zundert 4. In May 2025 the monks announced the closure of the abbey for lack of monks; monastic life ended in 2025 and the brewery stopped brewing for good.
