Pabod Breweries Ltd, a brewery at Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt, commissioned in 1982 with a capacity of 250,000 hl a year. It lay dormant for more than ten years before the Rivers State government and the German consultancy Brewtech restarted it in 2007-2008 to brew Grand lager and Grand Malt. SABMiller agreed on 27 November 2008 to buy a majority; AB InBev took it over in 2016, and in 2017 Pabod was merged into International Breweries Plc, which still lists Port Harcourt among its breweries. unverified info
