Founded in 2014 by Charlie Shaw and Sam McMeekin, with Simon Wood as head brewer, in a unit on Hamilton Road, Gipsy Hill, south-east London; the first beer was sold in July 2014 and a 60-hectolitre brewhouse came in 2017. It became London's first employee-owned brewery in April 2021, and in October 2025 moved most of its brewing to the Curious Brewery in Ashford because of rising overheads.
