## About

Not a brewery: W. & H. E. Tanner was a wine and spirit merchant in Shrewsbury, founded in 1872 by the former sea captain William Tanner and his brother Henry Edward. It was a beer wholesaler and local agent for Worthington's of Burton from the 1880s, and in 1912 bought the Old Brewery at Welshpool, which had already stopped brewing.
