Founded in early summer 2003 in Stavanger after Ringnes closed Tou and moved its production to Oslo; the first products were delivered on 4 July 2003, brewed by Mack in Tromsø. Production moved to its own brewery at Hillevåg on 15 September 2005. The American Mike Murphy has been head brewer since 2010, which turned Lervig towards craft beer and contract brewing for Mikkeller. In 2018 an American investment fund bought half of the company for 20 million dollars. unverified info
