Established in 1991 in a converted outbuilding in the hamlet of Holme on Swale, Hambleton district, North Yorkshire; it reached 800 gallons a week within six months. It now makes about 100 barrels a week with fifteen staff. Nightmare won Champion Winter Beer of Britain in 1997, and its Gluten Free Ale won the Tesco Beer Challenge innovation prize in 2005. unverified info
