Not a brewery: Chapel Down of Tenterden, Kent, is the largest English wine producer. In 2011 it set up Curious Brewing in Ashford, Kent, which bought a site in Ashford in November 2017 after raising £1.7 million, mostly by crowdfunding; in February 2021 it put the brewing business into administration and it was sold to Risk Capital Partners.
