Formed in 1963 by buying the Leon brewery of Christodoulos Platanis, whose Leon (1937) was the first Cypriot beer. In 1967 it got the first licence to brew Carlsberg outside Denmark; Leon was dropped and brought back in 2003 on the 1937 recipe.
