## About

The Gallia beer was shown at the 1878 Exposition universelle; in 1890 the Alsatian Jean-Jacques Wohlhüter took over the brewery in Montrouge (now Paris 14th) as La Nouvelle Gallia. It became the second largest brewery of Paris, using the old quarries as cellars. Merged with the Union des Brasseries parisiennes in the early 1960s; Gallia was given up in 1968 and the brewery pulled down. The brand was revived in 2010 as Gallia Paris (brewery in Pantin from 2015, Heineken from 2021).
