## About

Founded in 1864 by Johann Juker of Bolligen at the Gurten, Bern's local hill, at Wabern in Köniz; it became a joint-stock company in 1903 and took over the Gassner brewery and ice works in 1969. Feldschlösschen bought it in 1970 and moved its production to Rheinfelden in 1997; the company was dissolved in 2001. Gurten beer was later brewed at Cardinal in Fribourg and, since 2011, at Rheinfelden.
