## About

Oxford's only major brewery, the Lion Brewery in St Thomas Street, founded in 1743 by Richard Tawney; the Morrell family took it over from 1797 and the brewing company is dated 1782-1998. Greene King lists Morrell's among the breweries it acquired in 2002. The Lion Brewery buildings are now flats.
