Brewing in Domažlice is recorded from 1341; the brewhouse was built in 1892 and the malthouse four years later. Purkmistr 12° was the main beer. Plzeňský Prazdroj closed the brewery in 1996; the town took the site in 2002 and in 2020 the Městský pivovar Domažlice began brewing again in the old malthouse.
