How it works
Founded at Sion in 1865 by the Dutch pharmacist Maurice de Quay as the Brasserie St. Georges, a name kept until 1926, when it made 13,000 hl. It grew after a modernisation in 1951 and was taken over by Feldschlösschen in 1972 (70,000 hl); output peaked at 90,000 hl in 1993 and was about 60,000 hl in 2005. Feldschlösschen kept it open and the customs register of January 2026 lists it as Feldschlösschen (Valaisanne) in Sion; a new micro-brewery at Vétroz brews small batches of craft beer. unverified info
