Started about 1996 as a joint venture of the pub group Tynemill and Bramcote Brewery beside Tynemill's Vat and Fiddle pub in Nottingham; Tynemill bought out the other shareholders in 2001. Because the lease on its Traffic Street premises ends in March 2027, it was granted planning permission on 26 August 2026 to move in 2027 to the former Murphy & Son brewery in Old Basford, built in 1891.
