How it works
Founded in Kingston in 1994 to brew a beer from local produce, and in 1999 bought a large downtown brewery with equipment from Germany, Italy and the USA; the brewery stood at 7 Pechon Street. Brewed Real Rock lager, Jamaica Stout, Lion Heart Stout, Yardy Shandy, Roots Malta and an alcoholic ginger beer, and bottled Lascelles' Kingston 62 lager (2006-2009). Went into receivership and in early 2012 its assets were bought by Roy D'Cambre, who ran the plant as Razz Breweries Jamaica; after a second receivership the site passed in 2020 to RJ Rums and Spirits, led by Big City's former managing director Peter Wong, which brews Royal Jamaican beers there. unverified info
