New Zealand Founded by John and Val Harrington in 1991; the first beer was brewed on 15 July 1991 at the Old Wards Brewery site on Kilmore Street, Christchurch (1,000 litres a batch). Moved to a larger site on Ferry Road in 1993 (6,000 litres). Champion Brewery at the Brewers Guild awards in 2012. Bought by Lion in July 2018; on 18 February 2021 Lion announced it would close the brewery and brew the brand at its South Island breweries. Pig & Whistle. unverified info
