How it works
Friedrich Czell & Sons bought the bankrupt Dârste distillery in 1892 and turned it into a brewery that began brewing in 1894. After the nationalization of 1948 it was renamed Aurora, and in 1995 S.C. Aurora S.A. was privatized with 100% Romanian capital. In May 2004 SABMiller agreed to pay USD 16.2 million for 81.1% of it (589 employees, 5.2% of the market, capacity 680,000 hl; brands Ciucaș and Cerbul), and the brewery now belongs to Ursus Breweries. unverified info
